Midway Gardens (1913-1914) was an entertainment complex on Chicago's south side - an extraordinary achievement for Frank Lloyd Wright, who personally designed and supervised all of its elements, including a series of cast concrete sculptures he called the "Sprites". The Gardens fell victim to financial troubles and was demolished in 1929. This hand-cast cement garden sculpture was adapted from the drawings found in the Frank Lloyd Wright Foundation archives.
